I glue the bases to cardboard and then darker their edge with a black sharpie.
Not much you can mess up and those models are easy to built, it's simply cutting them out (scissor or x-acto knife), folding them (crease out all folds before glueing), and glue them togheter.
for u.s. people elmers glue is one they recommend a lot too.
Tools are not much, 1 brush, 1 little spatula to apply glue (depending on glue.) and scissors or x-acto knives.
Print out 1 sheet, not thousand at once and if you can choose between inkjet or laser, do use the inkjet (Creases looks better inkjet.)
