alright /sci/ im in need of some assistance.
Suppose i were to find the error of a 4th degree polynomial approximation for cos(x).
I know the polynomial would be: 1 - (x^2)/2 + (x^4)/4!
but what would the remainder be. i know that since its an alternating series, the remainder has to be less than or equal to the next term. so would the remainder be less than or equal (x^6)/6!, being the next term in the series, or x^5/5!, being the next higher power.
