Boulder pushing

No.527075 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I pushed a boulder today but was kinda bummed out that it broke falling off the cliff. The boulder was diorite so it wasn't really a good one to begin with. Also this was the first time I got out my rope and carabiners and tied myself off, kinda creepy with the moss being "slippery".

Can we get an /out/ meet up thread? Post your general area and if you find someone nearby, exchange info then meet up and chat, plan, fish, camp, etc. I hope there isn't already one of these threads, I didn't see one. Let's keep this to NA but others are welcome to give it a shot I guess.

Representing 405, Oklahoma City here. Would be down for fishing or maybe camping

Is there a good way to find people to go hiking with? Don't get me wrong, I love the solo stuff a ton, but it would be nice to have a good group to take out every now and then. All of my regular friends are either uninterested or fat fucks who think backpacking is easy and would just make the trip miserable.

Maybe even an /out/ girl or two?

Fishing advice?

No.532957 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Father's day is coming up and my dad has always expressed interest in fishing. I want to get him a license, rod, and enough gear to get him started.

I don't know a single thing about fishing. I was hoping someone here could make me a list of stuff to get for him. We live next to a river so it will be freshwater only. Price isn't important but he obviously won't need top of the line professional shit starting out.

I know they sell starter kits but I hear a lot of them are shit and I want to get him something decent even if it means buying it all separately. I would really appreciate the help, thanks in advance!
